Description

A 6-hole Tulipiere, designed to hold Spring tulips in a bowing position. An exquisite piece created by Fulham Pottery in the 1930s, featuring a pleated body, oval footed base, and distinctive unglazed finish. Made from hand-pressed white Devon clay, the inside is glazed for water tightness while the outside is left unglazed for clients to personally paint to match their room. This design, known as V1, was created by Gerard de Witt in 1937 for the Alber Ware range. Fulham Pottery had been producing the Constance Spry mantle vases for several years before branching out on their own. Sadly, the London Fulham Factory closed in 1956 due to the Clean Air Act, which required the use of cleaner fuels for kilns. This vase is stamped with “Fulham Pottery, Made in England”.

Some small marks and grazing from age but great condition. No chips.Stamped ‘Fulham Pottery, Made in England’. L 34 cm x H 30cm
